Philips has unveiled a new iPod-compatible, under-cabinet multimedia player. Dubbed as the Philips DCD778 Docking Entertainment System, it features an 8.5-inch widescreen LCD display and can play audio and video from an iPod, DVD, (S)VCD, MP3-CD, CD(RW) and Picture CD. The system also provides a built-in ATSC/NTSC TV tuner, digital AM/FM tuner, two 2-inch speakers, cooking timer and clock, and wireless remote. Griffin Technology announced the availability of the TuneFlex AUX, an updated version of its flexible charging cradle with line-out audio. The device features an audio cable for automobiles with direct line-in ports. Apple has confirmed that the first shipments of Apple TV to the company’s retail stores have been pushed back to the beginning of March. Apple has been accepting pre-orders for the device since last month’s Macworld Expo. Steve Jobs, Apple CEO, unveiled the Apple TV under the code name iTV in September last year. The Apple TV has a built-in 40GB drive that can store up to 50 hours of video.
