Philips has unveiled a new iPod-compatible, under-cabinet multimedia player. Dubbed as the Philips DCD778 Docking Entertainment System, it features an 8.5-inch widescreen LCD display and can play audio and video from an iPod, DVD, (S)VCD, MP3-CD, CD(RW) and Picture CD. The system also provides a built-in ATSC/NTSC TV tuner, digital AM/FM tuner, two 2-inch speakers, cooking timer and clock, and wireless remote. Griffin Technology announced the availability of the TuneFlex AUX, an updated version of its flexible charging cradle with line-out audio. The device features an audio cable for automobiles with direct line-in ports. It plugs into a car’s cigarette lighter outlet to power and charge your Apple iPod while holding it at a convenient position. Available in two versions (the TuneFlex AUX for full-size iPods and the TuneFlex AUX for the second-generation iPod nano), both priced at $50.

The 60-watt iTower speaker system charges and plays your Apple iPod through its four stereo speakers, single dome tweeter and two sub woofers. The speaker system has 100Hz to 16KHz of frequency response. The iTower speaker system retails for $299.95 at Sharper Image.
