The Motorola W755 replaces the original RAZR franchisee. It is a mid-level phone and continues the very successful “thin flip” concept pioneered by Motorola. If you are looking for a fun flip that has some enhanced features, you’ll want to check out the W755. Available in black and purple, the W755 is a good looking phone coated in soft-touch paint and silver trim accents. It features a sturdier hinge than prior models, a more thoughtful keypad and an overall improved durability.

Curiously, while T-Mobile is the only carrier not running on a 3G network and still not providing a music downloading service, it nonetheless is producing phones capable of both. Such is the case with the Nokia 6263, a quad-band, 3G capable flip that features a 2.2 inch LCD screen (240×320), mini USB port for easy syncing, Bluetooth 2.0 support, dedicated MP3 controls and an overall decent feature set.

The Helio Mysto is the CDMA version of the Samsung U600, but with many improvements. The popularity and intrigue surrounding Helio phones rests in the rich bundle of onboard applications, including robust IM and email features found on all their latest models, and the Mysto is no exception. In fact, the shorter feature list would be the one listing what the Mysto cannot do!

The LG Vu is very similar in design to the iPhone. While the Vu may look like the iPhone, the touch interface was not nearly as smooth. Like the LG Dare, scrolling can be a problem with the Vu. The screen measures three inches and boasts a 240 x 400 pixel resolution, placing it among the better displays available. Lacking an integrated light sensor, however, the Vu’s screen can be difficult to view in sunlight. Below the large screen are three buttons: call, hang up and back/clear.

The SGH-T819 is yet another slider from Samsung. Unfortunately, aside from its coffee brown color, Samsung does not bring anything too exciting to the table with this model. While a competent phone with a mid-level feature set, it would be great for Samsung to break loose with its creative resources and put some Umph! into this slider. While not breaking any new ground, the Samsung SGH-T819 is a good device that offers a 1.3MP camera with five quality settings and several photo editing capabilities (no flash), MP3 player, Bluetooth 2.0, voice dialing, speakerphone...
