Research In Motion and Verizon Wireless have announced the new BlackBerry Storm2 9550 touchscreen smartphone, the anticipated follow-up to the Storm 9530 launched one year ago.
The smartphone has a sleeker design with sloped edges, chrome accents and a stainless steel backplate. Its most marketable feature is an improved 3.25-inch capitative touchscreen with SurePress haptic feedback technology, the earlier version of which received a fair amount of criticism. The device also features the new BlackBerry OS version 5.0.

Samsung has announced that its eco-friendly Blue Earth solar-powered touchscreen phone will become available in Sweden this month with additional regions to follow. It will launch in France, Germany, Austria, Italy, Portugal, and other European and Asian countries soon, according to a press release.

Sprint has launched the Motorola Debut i856, a push-to-talk enabled iDEN slider phone, which includes basic functionality and features. The phone sports an MP3 player, a 1.3 megapixel camera, and Bluetooth technology. Threaded messaging lets users easily communicate on the i856. Users also have access to calendars, pictures, and location-based information. The Debut first launched with Boost, Sprint’s MVNO, in early September.
Sprint’s Motorola Debut i856 is available for $99.99 after a two-year customer agreement and mail-in rebate.

Philips has announced the V808 Android Version on the China Market. The Philips V808 Android Mobile Phone features a 3.2-inch Touchscreen display with a 480×320 pixel resolution. There is also a 3.2 Megapixel camera and support for dual-band 900/1800Mhz GSM/GPRS/EDGE networks.
