Nokia announced that its S60-powered Surge smartphone will be available to AT&T customers. The novel-looking Surge features a slide-out QWERTY keyboard and is well-suited to messaging tasks
Nokia says that the Surge was designed in its San Diego design center and that it features such goodies as a 2.4-inch 320 x 240 pixel display, Microsoft Exchange support, and a 2 megapixel camera. Standard AT&T applications like AT&T Navigator are also pre-loaded on the phone, as are Oz’s email and instant messaging clients.
Nokia notes that the Surge features an Adobe Flash compatible full HTML web browser, and that users can quickly post messages, photos, and videos to social networking sites thanks to its pre-installed Juicecaster application. Music fans will appreciate the built-in music player and FM radio, as well as the Surge’s support for stereo Bluetooth headphones.

On top of the device, you’ll find the speaker, a 2.5mm headset jack, and the power connector, which is protected by an attached cover. The microUSB port on the left side also has a protective cap, which we appreciate, but they’re both difficult to remove and get in the way when trying to connect the respective cables. There’s a volume rocker and camera activation/capture key on the right. Finally, the camera is located on the back, while the microSD expansion slot can be found behind the battery cover.
hey! does the Nokia ovi maps app work on Surge?
