The South Korean government has forced the U.S. computer giant Apple to recall the first generation iPod nano over concerns that the battery can overheat, leading to fires. Over the past five years, there have been 46 instances where batteries overheated or exploded, according to government statistics. They claim that the iPod touch will have the same 480 x 320 resolution as the iPhone, run OSX and feature a single button home navigation. It will have the same form factor as the iPhone with a few exceptions, the outside rim will be black and not silver and will be slightly thicker.

Here is a first look at the new 3rd-generation iPod Nano. Available in 4GB or 8GB versions, the gadget features a 2-inch QVGA display and up to 24-hours (audio) / 5-hours (video) of continuous playback.
